Professional Background
Education and Experience
Directly after graduating high school, I attended the Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a focus on Psychology, and a minor in Sociology of Disability Services. In my junior year, I completed a course titled Drugs and Behavior and my future fell into place. I learned about the world of treatment for substance use disorders and shortly after began an internship at an outpatient Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) program that specifically provided Buprenorphine (Suboxone) medications.

After graduation, I was employed for a few years as a counselor in an inpatient facility. I was specifically focused on working with co-occurring mental health diagnoses and substance use disorders in adult women.

A colleague and friend that had previously worked with me at the inpatient facility contacted me about an opportunity to return to MAT. Harm reduction was the beginning of my career and is something that I still truly advocate for and believe in.

I went and in the years that I spent with this program, I expanded my knowledge of MAT with the introduction of Methadone medications as a treatment option, in addition to Suboxone. During this time, I became a Clinical Supervisor and was overseeing three to four counselors at a time as well as a patient census of 350+.

The treatment community has grown significantly in it's acceptance of MAT as a tool for recovery and an MAT program began at the inpatient facility I had previously worked at. I returned and provided insight on MAT programming as well as was a Clinical Supervisor for four to six counselors as a time as well as a patient census, consisting of co-occurring mental health diagnoses and substance use disorders in adult men, of 80+.
While employed as a Clinical Supervisor at the inpatient facility, I also attended graduate school full time and obtained my Master's of Arts Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of the Cumberlands. Education is one of my highest values and my experience in school during this time was invaluable to my career.

When I relocated to Florida, I also decided to return professionally to MAT. I currently work full time as a Program Director in a local MAT program.

This private practice opened in August of 2025 as solely a telehealth service. As of January of 2026, this practice has expanded into a brick and mortar location in Ellenton Florida, as well as still providing telehealth services.

Get to Know Me
I grew up and have lived the majority of my life in rural Pennsylvania. I relocated to Florida in 2023 and have fallen in love with the area. There is just something about being able to go to the beach in the middle of December I will never get used to!

My life has been anything but easy, but I have grown significantly from these experiences and have learned how to manage difficult life situations in creative and healing ways. I have been involved in counseling myself, so I know how it feels to be on the other side of the desk.

My own life experiences and education have led me directly down the path of becoming a mental health counselor. My goal as a mental health therapist is to serve the community by providing an open, welcoming, and accepting counseling space, free of judgement and shame.

When I am not behind a desk, you can find me painting, reading, out on the hiking trails, at the beach, hanging out with my family, or spending time with my puppies!

I love to have fun and love having new experiences. If you have any local recommendations, I will try them all! I found my favorite beach spot once I moved here from a recommendation from a client.

I value education, fun, authenticity, and all of the things that make up the human experience. You can get through anything. Everyday is a fresh start. Let's jump together!
