Is Therapy for Me?

This is often the first question that people ask themselves when considering therapy.

I can definitely understand this. We often rationalize the benefit of therapy away by thinking "my problems aren't important enough for therapy" or "other people have it worse than me". We've all felt it.

Here's the truth: therapy is for EVERYONE!

Here's a bonus truth: you aren't required to have "problems" to come to therapy!

Every person is deserving of an environment where they can simply just figure out who they are as human beings in the world. Reasons individuals seek therapy are as individual as they are and can be anything from navigating "normal" life changes to managing significant mental health concerns ("normal" isn't real).

Everyone is welcome and no one is judged!

What to Expect During Treatment

Practice Transparency

This private practice is new; I just established and opened in 2025. I also obtained my Florida State counseling license in 2025. While this is all very exciting news for me and my loved ones, I can understand how this "newness" can be concerning to someone seeking therapy.

I hope you can rest assured, based on my experience outlined in the About Me section of the website, that I have the skills necessary to provide you with the care you deserve. Education has always been a priority for me. Through all of my own life situations, education got me through. I have taken my education and my career seriously, because I understand the value of a skilled health care provider.

I believe that therapy should be an open, relaxing, and welcoming environment. I encourage you to be yourself and be honest. The more honest and open you are, the more you benefit in the therapeutic process. A good therapist asks questions, however if there is ever something that you are uncomfortable discussing, I will not pry and I will respect your privacy. Therapy is yours, share what you feel comfortable with.

What to Expect in Sessions

Laptop and Paperwork

Intake

In the interest of full transparency, this will likely be the appointment that is intimidating to most. This is a paperwork heavy appointment (to cover all the legal bases and such). Then we have a conversation where I get to know more about why you chose therapy and your history. We will identify what you hope to gain from therapy and we will discuss how we can reach those goals together.

If possible, to aid the speed (and hopefully painfulness) of this process, I will send the intake paperwork to you ahead of time. If I can get this back the day prior to your intake session, I can review the paperwork on my own and then the intake session becomes much more relaxed and conversation based!

Comforting Hands

Clinical Sessions

I am currently only practicing on a video counseling platform (but have a goal to have a brick and mortar location in the Tampa Bay/Sarasota area!).

I offer three types of sessions, all outlined in the Services tab: Individual, Couples, and Family Counseling. My therapeutic approach may vary based on the dynamic present or the goals to be met. My goal is to empower individuals to meet their own goals. You come to treatment with your own unique knowledge base, experiences, expectations, and goals. Those are the driving forces of your treatment

What will never change is the empathy and compassion I bring to each session. You are a human-being worthy of respect and you will be treated as such in therapy.

Team Hugging

Discharge/Transition Planning

Therapy can't (and shouldn't!) last forever.

Hear me out... The goal of any therapist should always be to empower and aid individuals in developing the skills necessary to navigate life on their own.

However, no good therapist would ever cut you loose without the appropriate conversation and referrals!

Any conversation about graduating from treatment will occur throughout your treatment and and more thoroughly for a period of time prior to your graduation. â€‹You will be provided with a number of resources local to your community, specific to the needs that made you choose therapy and any needs that have come up throughout treatment.
